Pompei ruins
Ancient Pompei is unique in the world. Once you visit it, you will never forget it. It was made immortal by the 79 AD explosion of Mount Vesuvius. Thanks to its infinite static, it has kept, through the centuries, all its features.
Pompei is fascinating thanks to roads, houses, temples, shops, theaters which are still alive and make tourists live the everyday image of a twenty century ago society.
The plaster casts of the people trying to escape, their belongings are strongly impressive. It's a unique, rich and detailed ensemble.
Rediscovered in 1748, the town, made eternal by Mount Vesuvius, is still being investigated and new houses and areas have recently been reopened to public.

New discoveries
Ancient Pompei is breathless. Once you visit it, you will never forget it. It's a chrystallized piece of history...enter houses, walk through the streets will make you have unique feelings.
The town, frozen in time, was rediscovered in 1748 thanks to Charles III king of Naples. Deeper investigation started in 1963 with the discovery of houses and temples. During the last 5 years several new discoveries have been made; those located in regio V have shown large quantities of shops, thermopolia, the house of the triclinium and artifacts.
In 2017, in the House of the Gladiators, ancient anphoras with the remains of food were brought to light. In 2018 the Domus of the Bleading Bear and the Domus of Siricus were open to public. They were decorated with wonderful m osaic floors, frescoes, green areas which was to be found in the houses of wealthy people. More plaster casts were discovered in this area. The Houses of the Anchor, the House of the Bigger Fountain and the Temple of Isis were also reopened. In 2019, the Schola Armaturarum, which collapsed in 2018, was reopened too.
